April 5th through May 31st, 2019

(Opening Reception-Friday, April 5th from 6-10pm)

Craft(s) Gallery is pleased to present Horsepower, the latest works of Jeaneen Barnhart, Jaime Corum, Tyler Robertson and Richard Sullivan.

*Jeaneen Barnhart is dedicated to the art of drawing, creating works with her expressive classic style and delicate attention to detail with such diverse line and texture taking on their own dimension. Equine studies, Male Torsos, Sensual Nudes and Loving Couples encompass her extensive repertoire.
A Florida native, Jeaneen started painting at an early age along with her twin sister, Doreen. The twins had devoted parents educating them on all aspects of technical drawing skills, along with grandparents who range from a professional musician, songwriter, and comic book illustrator. It was a natural progression for the sisters to look to the arts.

After Jeaneen received her BFA in painting from Alfred University in 1992, she joined her sister in Louisville, where they both currently reside and often collaborate on many notable projects including the Woodford Reserve KY Derby 136 Commemorative Bottle, five Kentucky Derby Festival Posters, Cellar Door Chocolate Barnhart Bar series, two St. James Court Art Show Posters, Harkness Vineyard wine label, Sonoma-Cutrer Wine Promotionals, Dumante Liqueur Promotionals, and the 1996 PGA Golf Experience poster. They have also collaborated on charitable projects for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and American Red Cross. Jeaneen's figurative drawings were featured on HBO’s Entourage, and her equine drawings appeared on ABC's Body of Proof, Lifetime movies and Orpan Horse motion picture along with permanent presence in Ralph Lauren’s Polo Bar in NYC. Collectors and Commissions Brown-Forman, Clarendon Flavors, GE’s Monogram Design Center, Valor Farm, Papa John’s. Jeaneen has been licensed to create an ongoing collection of powerful drawings depicting the 1973 Triple Crown champion, Secretariat, the most recognizable name in thoroughbred racing!

*Jaime Corum is an equine artist born and raised in Kentucky. She has been involved with horses and art nearly all her life and now they have become a harmonious single path. Jaime received her undergraduate education from Bellarmine University (BA) and graduate degree from the University of Kentucky (MFA).

Jaime’s equine art is inspired and refined by her own experience with horses, especially her own horse Chesapeake. She has been drawing horses since she can remember and riding since age 11. Jaime's art evolved from doing portraits of friend's horses for fun to a full time career of commissioned portraits and original compositions.

Her primary areas of expertise are Thoroughbred Racing, Dressage, Show Jumping and Eventing, but she loves to work with horses of all shapes and sizes. From the finest thoroughbred to the homeliest pony—she finds them all beautiful.

*Tyler Robertson is known for his modern take on otherwise traditional subjects.  His use of size, bold compositions, colors and a pallet knife add life to his paintings.  Since becoming an artist, Tyler has moved quickly to form a buzz in the world of sporting art.  He finds inspiration in traveling, advertisements, fashion and the work of young upcoming artists.  He has sold paintings internationally and has been chosen as the official artist of the 2018 Breeders’ Cup.

*Richard Sullivan is an artist and former professional baseball player with the Atlanta Braves. Born and raised in Louisville, KY, he studied at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) where he received a BFA in Illustration. He had the opportunity to play baseball at SCAD and to continue his interest in art and illustration. In 2008, Richard was drafted by the Braves in the 11th round as a junior and played 6 years of minor league baseball. He returned to SCAD in 2014 to finish his degree and focus exclusively on his artwork.

His work has been accepted into the permanent collection of the National Baseball Hall of Fame, the Yogi Berra Museum and exhibited by the Louisville Slugger Museum and the Kentucky Derby Museum. Over a dozen Major League Baseball players, including Tom Glavine have started collecting his work. He worked with the Kentucky Derby Museum to create several paintings of Charismatic for a special exhibition honoring legendary horse trainer D. Wayne Lukas.

In 2015, his painting of Bryce Harper was on the cover of the Washington Post Sports section in honor of Bryce winning the National League MVP. The Washington Nationals bought the original painting to auction off at their Dream Gala in 2016.

In 2017 the Atlanta Braves commissioned Richard to create eighteen original watercolor paintings and twenty prints for their new stadium SunTrust Park. The paintings line the corridors of the Champions suite and the Executive Offices. The Atlanta Falcons commissioned Richard to create a portrait of their owner, Arthur Blank, that hangs in the owner’s suite of the new Mercedes Benz Stadium. Richard worked with the Braves and Omni Hotels to create nine paintings for the meeting rooms of the new Omni Hotel at the Battery Atlanta.

His work has been featured nationally on MiLB.com, Fox Sports, Fox Sports South and numerous magazines including the AJC, Kentucky Monthly, Insider Louisville, The Courier Journal, Louisville Magazine and the Louisville Voice.
